Tagai 'Karta' Pinot Gris
The fruit for this Pinot Gris is sourced from the rugged and wild coast of south eastern Kangaroo Island. The grapes picked in the cool of night at optimum ripeness and with high natural acidity.
The fruit was gently pressed and fermented with some wild yeast and solids for complexity of flavour. The wine then left on lees (expired yeast after ferment) for 3 months before going to bottle.
The result is a wine that has a coppery hue and pale straw in colour. Fresh aromas of cut grass, herbs, pear skin, jasmine and limes. The palate is fresh and clean with crisp acidity - citrus, jasmine and juniper flavours. From time on lees there is mid palate texture making it great with food. A match made in heaven with natural oysters and perfect to start a dinner or party!
